Meet Our Board of Trustees

Dr. Babajide Milton Macaulay

Dr. Macaulay is a native of Lagos State, Nigeria; an Academic and an Educational Consultant. He is a 150 Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society, a Non-Resident Fellow of the Nigerian Global Affairs Council (NIGAC), a 2021 Carrington Youth Fellow, and a 2022 Open Africa Power (OAP) Fellow.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree with First-class (Hons.) in Biology from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) in 2010. Then went on to win the highly prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship twice to fund his Master’s degree (Distinction) in Sustainable Environmental Management from the Natural Resources Institute (NRI), University of Greenwich, UK and a PhD degree in Environmental Geochemistry and Geomicrobiology from the University of Manchester, UK. He currently lectures in the Department of Biology (Environmental Biology and Public Health Unit) at FUTA, where he teaches Environment-related courses to both Undergraduate and Masters students.

In 2018, Dr. Macaulay founded iLLUMANIA (www.illumania.org), an online educational consulting outfit, where he provides a wide range of academic support to students, graduates, and business professionals, including academic scholarships. In the last 4 years, iLLUMANIA has produced over 200 MSc/PhD scholarship winners from Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, Botswana, and South Africa; attracting about US$9 Million in scholarship benefits. This feat earned him the Royal African Leadership Award in 2021, presented by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, and Nigeria’s Federal Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare.

In late 2021, he created, “Wadi”, a startup that connects African researchers to the resources they need to drive R&D in Africa. In July 2022, Wadi was adjudged the most innovative startup at the Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM) Startup competition, winning the prize of N2.5M. By the end of 2022, Wadi had amassed an additional N12.6M in grant from angel/impact investors.

He is a graduate of the Quantic School of Business and Technology Executive MBA program.

Chinenye Adeleye

Chinenye Adeleye is a Project Manager, an award-winning professional Volunteer, a social entrepreneur, a mentor, a TEDx, and an international speaker. She’s the founder of Volunteers Hub Africa, an organization that outsources volunteers to Nonprofits for the execution of their projects and has won many awards to their credit.

She is also a volunteers’ consultant and coach, she has trained over 2000 volunteers in non-profits within and outside Nigeria which includes reputable organizations like JCI student bodies and TEDxMaitama. Through her organization, she has inspired so many young people to volunteer and give back to society and their community by involving and championing community-led projects. She’s skilled in leadership development, leadership, project management, financial intelligence, team building, and emotional Intelligence.

She’s an interior designer and strong business development professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ibadan. She is currently a project manager at one of Africa’s leading Educational Technology Firms, SkoolMedia.

Chinenye is also a mental and emotional health enthusiast. She loves being joyful and loves to spread joy wherever she finds herself.

Destiny Ogedegbe

Recently nominated as Top 30 Most Influential Young Nigerians by Meta (Facebook) in conjunction with Netpeneurs, Destiny Ogedegbe is a US-based investment lawyer and public intellectual who also serves on the Board of Trustees of OFFA Foundation, a non-profit registered in North Carolina, USA aimed at stimulating educational growth and engineering a value-enhancing path for young adults through art & fashion. 

Before embarking on his LLM Programme at the University of Harvard, Destiny was a corporate attorney at Banwo & Ighodalo – an internationally recognized tier 1 corporate law firm – where he advised some Nigerian and international clients – including some of the largest international oil companies – in connection with a wide range of corporate finance, project finance, energy, and M & A related transactions/projects.

Destiny was recently nominated as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People of African Descent (Under 40) by the MIPAD Organization in conjunction with the United Nations Office of Human Rights, in recognition of the International Decade for the Celebration of Black Excellence. He is also a member of the Society for Advanced Legal Studies, United Kingdom, and was recognized by JCI International in 2020 as one of Nigeria’s most promising professionals amongst other recognitions.

He is reputed for his record-breaking academic performance as the first male student and second law student in the over 40-year history of the Faculty of Law, University of Benin, to graduate with a First-Class degree. He is also a First-Class degree holder from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja Campus. In addition to his academic records, Destiny has several legal papers in national and international law journals to his name.

He is the founder of the Millenials’ Intellectual Academy, a non-profit organization with the aim of building platforms that provide mentorship for budding professionals. He is passionate about art, writing, and thought leadership. He spends his leisure hanging out with friends, playing football, chess, or writing.

John 'Dare Okafor

John Dare Okafor has been a champion for boys in Nigeria for years. He co-founded Boys Without Borders, an organization that has directly impacted over 1,000 boys through school and community outreach programs. John also leads a program called Project Boys Talk About It, which raises awareness about boy-child sexual abuse by collecting and publishing stories annually. These stories have garnered over 17,000 reads in just four years. Additionally, John’s team publishes a bi-weekly publication called Breaking Borders to tackle social issues affecting boys.

He holds a degree in Counseling and Human Development Studies from the University of Ibadan. John is also a writer with a passion for African literature. His stories focusing on social issues have been published on various reputable platforms like Kalahari Reviews, Kloutbox NG, and Punocracy.

John Dare Okafor is a dedicated advocate for positive change, committed to creating a brighter future for boys in Nigeria and beyond.

Solomon Idowu

Solomon Idowu is a dynamic young leader with a fervent passion for driving societal transformation. As a final-year Wood Products Engineering student at the esteemed University of Ibadan, Solomon has already made a significant impact through his co-founding of Boys Without Borders, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating awareness of and addressing unique issues concerning the boy-child.

Driven by the Latin phrase “Esse quam videri” (to be rather than to seem), Solomon is deeply committed to embodying excellence and making a tangible difference in the lives of others. As one of the Managing Directors of Boys Without Borders, Solomon successfully manages over 130 volunteers across Nigeria, collectively driven by the joint purpose of developing boys into functional men.

An avid 3D Visual Designer with a passion for crafting compelling narratives, Solomon leverages his expertise to bring brands and products to life in the most impactful way.  His artistic vision extends beyond product visualization, as he seeks to create meaningful stories through his 3D design work. Beyond design, Solomon is a curious learner with a growing interest in the business world.  His recent externship at HP Tech Ventures, the venture capital arm of Hewlett Packard, fueled his fascination with operations and project management, business analytics and development, and venture capital.

Solomon is driven by a genuine love for building and developing things, from ideation to execution, and is out to positively impact society from wherever he is positioned. In his free time, he indulges in his passion for design, political and social commentary, sports, music, anime, ideation, and continual learning.
