Community Outreach
Boys do not grow in a vacuum. Therefore, we take a two-way approach to orientation and education about the boychild and his needs at Boys Without Borders Nigeria.
We extend our outreach efforts to communities, where we engage parents, guardians, and other adults whom the boy-child interacts with and learns from.
Through this, we hope to influence them positively and shape their understanding of the boy-child and his needs, thereby helping them influence boys positively.
On Sunday, 16th of May 2021, our volunteers took to the streets of Nalende, Mokola, Ibadan. This was the last event lined up in commemoration of the International Day of the Boy-child, which held on that day. We sensitized boys, guardians and people in the community on important issues concerning the boy-child and the need to start addressing them.
Here are a few pictures from our Community Outreach and Awareness Walk against Sexual Abuse of the Boy Child at Sango-Poly Road, Ibadan, Oyo State on Saturday, 16th October 2022. Our Volunteers were able to interact with the people and enlighten them on Sexual Abuse of the Boy-child, what to look out for and how to handle it. They were also able to correct those who had wrong ideas about the issue.
On Saturday, 18th, November, 2023, Boys Without Borders, University of Ibadan Campus Network, carried out a campus outreach to the halls of residence on the University of Ibadan campus, speaking to students on important topics about the boy-child.
