School Outreach
At Boys Without Borders Nigeria, our primary means of engaging and orientating boys and is the school outreach. Through these outreaches, we share vital lessons from our curated content guidelines on salient topics ranging from peer pressure, to career choice, to respect for the female gender, to sexual education.
Beyond the lesson sharing, we also engage with boys and respond to their questions. In our four years of running outreach campaigns at three secondary schools in Ibadan, we have noticed several issues plaguing the boys, which we are happy they were comfortable enough to share with us.
The experience has also taught us that boys have a lot of questions. These boys are also in search of answers, and the responsibility of guiding them toward the right answers to help them make great choices rests on our shoulders as members of society. Pictures from our visit to Loyola College, Ibadan on Friday, 14th of May 2021, in commemoration of the International Day of the Boy-Child. Here, we spoke to the boys on varying topics ranging from Peculiarities of the Male Gender, Respect for Women, Sexual Education.
Pictures from our visit to Abadina College on Thursday 7th of October, 2021. In line with our current campaign against Sexual Abuse with project #BoysTalkAboutIt 2.0 we spoke to the boys on Sexual Abuse and Sexual Education and other topics like Peer Pressure and Character building, Drug Abuse and Addiction. As the pictures show, the boys had an awesome time being spoken to and learning from our volunteers.
Here are pictures of Boys Without Borders doing what we do best at St. Patrick’s Grammar School Orita-Bashorun, Ibadan, impacting the lives of young boys. On Wednesday 19th of May 2022 we spoke to the boys on topics like Sexual Abuse and Consent, Drug addiction, Peer Pressure among others. In line with our objectives, this visit was also in commemoration of The International Day of The Boy Child, which took place on Monday, 16th of May 2022.
Our visit to Ojoo High School on May 18, 20203 was in commemoration of the International Day of the Boy-child.
During this visit, our guest speakers, Mr. Alade and Ms. OlaOluwa, had thought-provoking conversations with the boys on topics such as mental health, peer pressure, and the fate of the boy-child in the 21st century.
Our volunteers also engaged the boys in bonding sessions on several relevant topics.
